
New Delhi, March 7: Jan Aushadhi Day is being celebrated across the country to raise awareness about generic medicines. On this occasion, several leaders, including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, extended their greetings to the public.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari shared on the social media platform ‘X’, “To ensure the health of the poor and provide them with medicines at low costs, the ‘Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana’ initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi offers medicines at prices 50 to 90 percent lower than the average market rate. Alongside affordable medicines, the Jan Aushadhi scheme is also contributing to job creation across the country.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted on ‘X’, “It is a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership that quality generic medicines are now easily accessible to the public at affordable prices through Jan Aushadhi Kendras. The ‘Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana’ has emerged as a ‘companion in crisis’ for the poor, laying the foundation for a healthy and empowered India. We are grateful to the Prime Minister for this transformative initiative.”
Union Minister of State and President of Uttar Pradesh BJP, Pankaj Chaudhary, stated, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jan Aushadhi Kendras have become a strong foundation for making healthcare accessible and affordable for every citizen. More than 18,660 centers across the country provide affordable medicines, aiding in delivering health benefits to the common man.”
He further added in his post on ‘X’, “Here, 2,110 quality medicines and 315 surgical instruments and consumables are also available. With Jan Aushadhi, health is now a right for everyone, and savings are a gift for every household.”
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also congratulated the public on this occasion. He posted, “Heartfelt greetings and best wishes on Jan Aushadhi Day. The gift of Jan Aushadhi Kendras provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is akin to a boon for a healthy life and excellent health, making treatment accessible for poor citizens at lower prices.”
