Kejriwal Supports Nationwide Movement Against Vote Fraud, Calls for EC Chiefs Resignation
Arvind Kejriwal backs a national movement against vote fraud, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

New Delhi, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has expressed support for a nationwide movement addressing allegations of vote fraud. During his three-day visit to Goa, he raised significant concerns regarding the electoral process and the integrity of voter lists.
Kejriwal stated that there is a collective demand across the country for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, urging him to step down. He accused the Election Commission of systematically removing legitimate voters from the rolls through a process known as Special Intensive Revision (SIR), while adding names of fraudulent voters. According to him, this manipulation is undermining the electoral process.
He emphasized that the integrity of the voter list is crucial for democracy, asserting that any discrepancies could jeopardize the foundational principles of democratic governance. Kejriwal also criticized the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that the administration has altered voter lists through SIR to influence elections.
Kejriwal remarked that disenfranchising genuine voters while incorporating fake ones is an affront to democracy. He highlighted the ongoing concerns regarding democratic institutions and the electoral process in recent years.
He pointed out that when questions arise about voter rights and the fairness of votes, it diminishes the credibility of democracy. Such actions, he asserted, have turned democracy into a mockery.
The Aam Aadmi Party is advocating for transparency in voter lists and fairness in the electoral process. They are committed to raising this issue at a national level and supporting the ongoing movement against vote fraud.
Kejriwal reiterated his call for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign and insisted on a fair investigation into the allegations surrounding the voter lists.
