Gandhidham, August 21: The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) hosted the Kandla Green Hydrogen Conclave 2026 at its administrative office in Gandhidham. The event attracted policy experts, industry representatives, and specialists from various sectors worldwide.
The conclave commenced with a virtual message from Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways. He shared insights on India’s green energy goals and the significance of sustainable maritime development.
Notable attendees included DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh (IRS) and former Norwegian Minister Eric Solheim, who is the chair of the International Advisory Board of GH2 India.
During the conclave, extensive discussions took place on green hydrogen, clean energy transitions, sustainable port development, and emerging green technologies. Participants emphasized the need for global collaboration, innovation, and technological partnerships to accelerate India’s green maritime ambitions.
As part of the conclave, the GH2 delegation visited India’s first ‘Make in India’ 1-megawatt green hydrogen plant established in Kandla. They gained insights into the plant’s operations and the technologies involved in green hydrogen production.
Additionally, the delegation inspected key port facilities. They were informed about the robust infrastructure, operational capabilities, and ongoing efforts towards green energy and sustainable maritime development by the Deendayal Port Authority.
The DPA also shared updates about the visit on the social media platform X, highlighting that the GH2 delegation toured the 1-megawatt green hydrogen plant and examined significant port facilities, closely observing green energy-based development initiatives.
