JP Nadda Accuses Mallikarjun Kharge of Spreading Falsehoods on Voter Lists, Defends Amit Shah

JP Nadda criticizes Congress leader Kharge for misleading comments on voter lists, defending Amit Shahs statements amid electoral debates.

New Delhi, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : Central Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda sharply criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday. He accused Kharge of spreading falsehoods regarding comments made by Home Minister Amit Shah about voter lists.

Nadda stated that Shah never referred to 13.39 crore Indians as infiltrators. In a recent post, he clarified the Election Commission’s stance on the draft voter list. He explained that the figure of 13.39 crore does not represent those who were permanently removed but rather includes individuals categorized as absent, relocated, deceased, or duplicates. Specifically, this number comprises 2.80 crore deceased individuals, 6.30 crore who have permanently relocated, 3.01 crore who are absent, and 1.02 crore duplicate entries.

Nadda dismissed attempts to link the popularity of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, stating that SIR was implemented only after 2024. He pointed out that Congress has not won an election in Gujarat for 31 years, has not had a chief minister in Tripura for 33 years, and has not secured a victory in West Bengal for 54 years.

He emphasized that the rejection of Congress by voters in states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra signals a loss of public trust, which cannot be repaired through misleading propaganda and negative politics. Nadda urged Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party to focus on regaining the trust of the people instead of using SIR as a shield to protect infiltrators and spread confusion.

Expressing confidence in the ruling coalition, the central minister stated that the public’s trust lies with PM Modi, the BJP, and the NDA. He predicted that the NDA would secure a significant majority in the 2029 elections, while Congress would face its fourth consecutive defeat at the national level.

He concluded, “Allegations alone cannot alter the truth of the public mandate.”
