Jitan Ram Manjhi Expresses Hope Following Suvendu Adhikaris Swearing-In as West Bengal Chief Minister

New Delhi, May 9: Jitan Ram Manjhi, the Union Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, commented on Suvendu Adhikari’s swearing-in as Chief Minister of West Bengal. He noted that after nearly 35 years, the BJP has formed a government in Bengal. The poor people of Bengal have high expectations from this new administration.

In an interview with a news agency, Manjhi stated that Mamata Banerjee was not effectively working for the poor. Instead, she was allegedly paying certain cadres to carry out tasks. He attributed the BJP’s significant seat gains in the recent elections to Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Amit Shah’s efforts, and the negative perception of the Banerjee government.

Manjhi expressed that there is a palpable excitement among the people following the formation of the BJP government in Bengal. The swearing-in ceremony felt festive, with 21 Chief Ministers, several Union Ministers, and the Governor in attendance.

BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Kaul welcomed Adhikari’s appointment as the first BJP Chief Minister of West Bengal. He remarked that the ‘India’ alliance is struggling to accept the BJP’s victory in the state, emphasizing that the people of Bengal have rallied behind the party.

Commenting on Adhikari’s swearing-in, Samajwadi Party leader Udayveer Singh raised concerns about allegations of bias during the elections, calling it alarming for democracy. He stressed the need to enhance the credibility of the country’s constitutional institutions.

Defense expert Captain Anil Gaur (Retired) noted that the TMC had created a chaotic situation in Bengal. He mentioned the recent murder of Adhikari’s personal assistant, highlighting the challenges Adhikari will face in maintaining law and order. Gaur expressed hope that those responsible for any wrongdoing would be held accountable.
