
Ranchi, May 3: The Indian National Congress has approved the formation of a state-level Political Affairs Committee in Jharkhand to strengthen its organization.
According to an official press release from AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, the committee will assume its responsibilities immediately. A total of 34 members have been included in this newly formed committee, prioritizing both veteran leaders and grassroots activists from the state.
Notable names on the committee include state in-charge K. Raju, state president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, former minister Alamgir Alam, and former state president Dr. Rameshwar Oraon. Additionally, ministers Radhakrishna Kishore, Dr. Irfan Ansari, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Deepika Pandey Singh, former minister Banna Gupta, and senior leader Subodhkant Sahay are also part of this crucial policymaking body.
The committee includes several legislators, such as Bhushan Bara, Mamta Devi, Kumar Jaymangal, Naman Viksal Kongaadi, Pradeep Yadav, Rajesh Kachhap, and Suresh Baitha.
Efforts have been made to ensure representation from various regions and social classes of Jharkhand in the committee’s formation. The list features influential leaders like Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dheeraj Prasad Sahu, Furkan Ansari, and Bandhu Tirkey.
Political analysts believe that the primary objective of this committee is to enhance coordination within the coalition government in Jharkhand and to prepare a roadmap for the upcoming elections. The PAC also includes ex-officio members such as the in-charge of Jharkhand, AICC secretaries, and heads of all frontal organizations and departments of the state Congress to ensure broad participation in the decision-making process.
