Jharkhand BJPs New Team Takes Action on Electricity Issues with Statewide Protests Planned for April 17

Ranchi, April 7: The newly formed team of the Jharkhand BJP has decided to stage large-scale protests across all districts on April 17, focusing on electricity-related issues. During the first meeting of the newly established committee at the party’s state office, strategies were outlined to strengthen the organization at the booth level and to initiate phased movements on public interest issues in the coming days.

State General Secretary Amar Kumar Bauri shared details of the decisions made during the meeting. Protests will be held in front of the offices of executive engineers of the electricity department in all districts against power cuts, rate hikes, and billing discrepancies. It was also decided that officials would conduct regular regional tours to empower the organization at the booth level and implement the party’s policies and programs on the ground.

State President and MP Aditya Sahu urged officials to take an active role with their new responsibilities and work collaboratively as a team. He reiterated the goal of changing the government in the state and establishing a ‘double engine’ government by 2029.

Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi criticized the state government, labeling it anti-people and corrupt, and called on party workers to strengthen the public movement against the government.

Organization General Secretary Karmveer Singh instructed members to reinforce the party’s presence at the booth level and accelerate regular organizational activities. The meeting also decided to commemorate Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14 organizationally. Additionally, there was consensus to prepare for a statewide movement on water issues following the electricity protests.

The party has made it clear that it will intensify movements on public interest issues in the future while strengthening its organizational structure and increasing activity across the state.
