Kahula (MP), Apr 11 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the Jalabhishek Abhiyan on Monday during a Jal Sansad at this village in Raisen district’s Gairatganj tehsil and said that more than 5,000 amrit sarovars will be created in the state as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve. “Related work shall be completed by June this year or by next March. A Rs 350-crore plan has been drafted vis-à-vis restoring 10,000 ponds,” Mr Chouhan was officially quoted as saying. He launched 5,000 sarovars online across all 52 districts, honoured three out of 551 water warriors who dug ponds in their fields for water harvesting. “Imbalance is being caused owing to excessive exploitation of groundwater. On a positive note, in the coming two to three years, every household will have access to tapwater. The life-sustaining fluid has reached 48 lakh dwellings through taps,” the Chief Minister observed. He presented loan-approval letters to the Gairatganj Production Company constituted by women of SHGs. AC
