Jakhar skips reply to Congreas notice

New Delhi, April 19 : Congress leader from Punjab S l Jakhar has not replied to a show cause notice issued by the party over his “anti-party” statements, and disciplinary action will be taken against him soon, a party leader said on Tuesday. Congress Disciplinary Committee Secretary Tariq Anwar said the deadline given to Jakhar to reply has expired. The Disciplinary Committee will meet soon and decide the next course of action, he said. The former Punjab Congress chief may be suspended or even sacked from the party. Anwar said the decision will be taken by the Committee soon. The Disciplinary Committee issued the notice to Jakhar for his comments critical of Charanjit Singh Channi as the Punjab Chief Minister after he led the party to a rout against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). A show cause notice was also issued against Kerala leader K V Thomas, who attended a seminar at the CPI-M Party Congress at Kannur. Thomas has replied to the notice. Both Thomas and Shashi Tharoor were invited to speak at the seminar. After the Congress Kerala t told the party to stop them from going, Tharoor announced he would not attend but Thomas went ahead.
