New Delhi, May 10: The world is celebrating Mother’s Day on May 10. On this occasion, leaders from around the globe are extending their wishes to mothers. From New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, heartfelt messages are being shared.
PM Meloni expressed that motherhood is both the greatest gift and the biggest challenge in life. She shared a picture with her daughter, stating, “Becoming a mother changes you from within. It alters your heart, your time, and your perspective on the world. It makes you stronger and more vulnerable at the same time. It teaches you the true meaning of unconditional love.”
She emphasized that being a mother means being there always, even when you are tired. It involves showing love in small gestures, facing fears and sacrifices with courage, and finding strength when you feel depleted.
Wishing all mothers a special Mother’s Day, PM Meloni said, “Today, I want to say something special to all mothers. To those who run tirelessly all day, to those who silently bear every worry, and to those who provide care, presence, and love in the smallest of things. Thank you for all that you are and all that you do. You give so much love to the world every day.”
Ukrainian President Zelensky also acknowledged the day, expressing gratitude for the boundless love that knows no limits and for everything a mother does for her child and family. He noted that the harsh realities of war have transformed the lives of millions of Ukrainian families. Today, Ukrainian mothers exemplify incredible courage, bravery, and the love that helps us endure.
He concluded by thanking every mother for the gift of life, for believing in their children, and for their prayers, protection, and support.
