Patna, April 11 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said that it was for the Central government to take steps for checking the price rise. Kumar told media persons here that it was true that prices of essential commodities including petrol and diesel continued to increase. It was the responsibility and within the domain of the Central government to take steps to check prices of petrol and diesel, he added. Chief Minister, to a query, said that his government had reduced state taxes on petrol and diesel a few months back to provide relief to the people. With limited resources, the state government was not in a position at present to provide relief to people by further reducing state taxes on petrol and diesel, he maintained.
