Beirut, September 22 (Kiran News): A deadly Israeli drone strike in the southern Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil on Sunday killed five people, including three children, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. Two others were injured after a motorcycle and a vehicle were hit in the attack.

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri confirmed that the victims included a father and his three children, while the mother sustained injuries. The family members were American citizens.
The Israeli military said the strike targeted a Hezbollah member but admitted that “some innocent civilians were also killed.” It announced a review of the incident and expressed regret over civilian casualties.
Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati strongly condemned the attack, calling it “an open crime against civilians and a message of intimidation for people returning to southern villages.”
The strike comes amid ongoing Israeli operations against Hezbollah positions since last November’s US-brokered agreement. Lebanon continues to face international and domestic pressure on Hezbollah to disarm, but the group has warned that as long as Israeli airstrikes persist, discussions on laying down arms would be a “serious mistake.”
