Jerusalem, March 29: The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson, Efi Defrin, announced in a live broadcast that the Israeli military is set to complete attacks on all critical sites of Iran’s military industry within the coming days.
Defrin stated, “This means we will eliminate most of Iran’s military production capacity, and the Iranian government will take a long time to repair the damage.”
He further explained, “We are operating according to a systematic plan, which is pre-prepared for a major assault and is continuously adjusted based on the situation. We have the opportunity to change the situation entirely.”
According to the news agency Xinhua, Defrin commented on a missile launched from Yemen towards Israel on Saturday morning, asserting that Israel is prepared for combat on multiple fronts, including against the Houthis. He warned, “Anyone who attempts to harm Israeli citizens will pay the price.”
Regarding the Lebanese front, Defrin reported that the Israeli military has killed over 850 Hezbollah militants and is increasing control in southern Lebanon to prevent direct fire on northern Israeli settlements.
Meanwhile, Israel’s National Emergency Service, Magen David Adom (MDA), and the Israeli police reported that a missile attack from Iran in Tel Aviv resulted in the death of a man in his sixties on Friday.
According to police, the incident was linked to a dispersing cluster munition missile that struck multiple locations in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area on Friday night (local time). The victim was identified as a construction worker who was injured by shrapnel from the missile. MDA also reported that two others sustained minor injuries in the attacks.
The missile launch from Iran triggered air defense sirens across large areas of central Israel around midnight, prompting residents to seek shelter. Earlier, a missile launched from Iran in southern Israel resulted in minor injuries to two individuals.
This escalation follows increased tensions after the U.S.-Israeli joint attacks on Iran that began on February 28. In response to the attacks by the U.S. and Israel, Iran and its regional allies have targeted Israeli and U.S. bases and installations throughout the Middle East.
