New Delhi, March 13: Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, has issued a strong rebuttal to former President Donald Trump’s remarks about dismantling Tehran’s electrical capacity. Larijani stated that this would provide an opportunity to capture American soldiers in the dark.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Larijani referred to Trump’s claim that the U.S. could eliminate Iran’s electrical capacity within an hour, stating, “If they attempt this, the entire region would be plunged into darkness in less than half an hour, giving them a complete chance to capture American soldiers fleeing for safety.”
Trump had previously asserted during a media interaction in Maryland that the U.S. military could destroy Tehran’s electrical capacity in just one hour. He mentioned, “We could strike Tehran and other areas, but if we do that, rebuilding their country would be nearly impossible, and we donโt want that. However, we can attack their electricity; we can eliminate their electrical capacity in an hour, and it would take them 25 years to rebuild it. So, we will not do that.”
Additionally, Trump claimed, “We have very good news on the war front. They are completely collapsing. Iran is on the brink. This does not mean we will finish them off immediately, but they are in dire straits. They have no navy, no air force, and no anti-air traffic systems. They lack any control systems. We are moving freely in that country.”
He also noted that over the past 11 days, U.S. forces have significantly damaged Iran’s military capabilities, stating, “We are destroying the factories where radar and anti-aircraft equipment are manufactured, and honestly, no one has seen anything like this.”
