Iran Proposes Regional Security Framework to End Ongoing Conflicts

Tehran, March 22: Iranian President Masoud Pajeshkian has proposed a regional security framework aimed at ensuring peace, security, and stability in West Asia without foreign intervention. He reiterated the conditions for ending the ongoing war during a recent phone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, both leaders discussed their bilateral relations and recent developments following attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel. Pajeshkian stated that Iran’s primary condition for ending the war is an immediate halt to attacks from the U.S. and Israel, along with guarantees that such actions will not occur in the future.

He condemned the U.S. and Israel for the assassination of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, senior military commanders, and ordinary citizens, as well as for targeting the country’s public infrastructure.

Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that the war aims to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. However, Pajeshkian dismissed these assertions, emphasizing that Iran’s former leaders were firmly against nuclear armament and had issued necessary orders to prevent any such attempts.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi expressed “deep concern” over escalating tensions in the region. He condemned any attacks on the area’s energy infrastructure and called for ensuring security in the Strait of Hormuz and freedom of navigation in the Gulf.

It is noteworthy that on February 28, Israel and the U.S. jointly attacked Tehran and several other Iranian cities, resulting in the deaths of Khamenei, senior Iranian military officials, and civilians. In retaliation, Iran launched a series of missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli and U.S. bases and assets in the Middle East.
