Mumbai, May 7: Indigo, one of India’s largest airlines, has announced that it will be the first airline to commence commercial flight services from Noida International Airport. This new airport, located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is set to begin operations on June 15, 2026, becoming the third major airport in the National Capital Region (NCR).
According to Indigo’s announcement, the airline will gradually connect Noida International Airport to over 16 cities across the country. Major cities included in this network are Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Jaipur, Navi Mumbai, Pantnagar, and Srinagar. This expansion aims to provide more options and improved air connectivity for travelers in Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh.
The airline has stated that bookings for the new flights will be initiated in phases through its official website, mobile app, and authorized travel partners. Indigo aims to develop this airport into a significant domestic and international aviation hub in the future.
Alok Singh, Chief Strategy Officer of Indigo, mentioned that Noida International Airport will emerge as a new gateway for western Uttar Pradesh and NCR. He noted that major metropolitan areas in India are moving towards a multi-airport system, and Indigo is proud to serve all three airports in Delhi-NCR: IGI Airport, Hindon Airport, and Noida International Airport.
Singh emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing passengers with affordable, timely, and hassle-free travel options. The company plans to further expand its network in the coming years.
It is noteworthy that Noida International Airport is among the largest greenfield airport projects in the country. The airport is being developed with a multi-modal connectivity model, linking it to road and rail networks. This will directly benefit travelers from Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Agra, Meerut, and other cities in western Uttar Pradesh.
On June 15, the inaugural flights will include a departure from Lucknow to Noida at 7:05 AM, arriving at 8:05 AM. A special inaugural flight from Noida to Bengaluru will also be operated. This initiative by Indigo is seen as a significant step towards the rapid growth of India’s aviation sector and infrastructure development.
