Tehran, April 7: In light of escalating tensions in West Asia, the Indian Embassy in Iran has issued a new advisory for its citizens. This comes after threats from U.S. President Donald Trump and ongoing attacks from Israel. Nationals are advised to avoid going outside for the next 48 hours.
The advisory states, “Continuing from the previous notice, Indian citizens still in Iran are advised to remain indoors for the next 48 hours. Everyone is urged to avoid areas near power plants, military installations, and the upper floors of high-rise buildings. Stay indoors and maintain complete communication with the embassy for any movement on highways.”
Additionally, those residing in hotels arranged by the embassy are also advised to stay inside and keep regular contact with the embassy team on-site.
The embassy has requested that citizens closely monitor official updates and can reach out for assistance at the mobile numbers +989128109115, +989128109102, +989128109109, and +989932179359. According to the embassy, these numbers will remain operational.
Previously, the Indian government had also advised its citizens to exercise caution and consider leaving Iran if necessary.
This advisory was issued following President Trump’s threat on Tuesday night (U.S. time) to obliterate Iranian civilization. Trump stated on Truth Social, “Tonight, an entire civilization will be destroyed, never to be brought back.”
He further added, “I do not want this to happen, but perhaps it will. However, the power dynamics have completely changed there, with different, more sensible, and less extremist individuals in place. Who knows, perhaps something truly wonderful will happen?”
