
Amsterdam, May 15: The Indian community residing in the Netherlands has expressed enthusiasm regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. They believe that the relationship between India and the Netherlands is continuously strengthening, with both countries expanding partnerships in new areas.
Prime Minister Modi is in the Netherlands from May 15 to 17 as part of the second phase of his official tour. During this time, he will meet with King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, and Prime Minister Mark Rutte. Several agreements related to strategic partnerships between the two nations are expected to be exchanged during his visit.
Before PM Modi’s arrival in The Hague, a member of the Indian community stated, “We have been living in the Netherlands for the past two years and are thrilled to see such a large Indian community here. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming, and we are also planning to meet him.”
Another community member highlighted the existing exceptional partnership between India and the Netherlands. He noted, “Bilateral trade exceeds $28 billion, and the Netherlands is the fourth-largest foreign direct investor (FDI) in India.”
He further added, “The most excitement surrounds the new areas both countries are now focusing on. This time, discussions will include sustainable energy, semiconductor innovation, and water management. The future looks strong and promising.”
He also mentioned that India is not only participating in global forums but is also leading the global economy.
Another community member expressed, “We are very excited. Both countries can offer a lot to each other. Prime Minister Modi’s visit will be crucial. Although the Netherlands may be small in terms of population and area, it has much to offer India, and India can play a significant role for this country. The people here recognize that India is a rapidly developing nation and is set to become a major market in the future.”
