New Delhi, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced on Saturday that India has showcased significant fintech innovations at the Global Fintech Fest 2026. This event strengthens the country’s vision for a more reliable, connected, inclusive, and future-ready financial system.
On the social media platform X, the RBI highlighted that the fest centered around themes such as “agentic AI with impact potential, tokenization, and quantum technologies for a trustworthy, connected, and global financial system.” During the event, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra launched several key innovations.
The RBI stated that the fintech fest served as a platform for introducing new initiatives aimed at shaping the future of finance. These innovations are expected to enhance digital experiences and lay a stronger foundation for responsible fintech advancements.
Earlier, Governor Malhotra remarked that fintech companies have emerged as vital partners in India’s financial ecosystem, playing an increasingly important role in promoting financial inclusion across the nation.
In a special discussion during the Global Fintech Fest 2026, Malhotra noted that the central bank is collaborating with fintech firms and financial institutions to broaden access to financial services, reduce digital fraud, and lower the costs associated with banking and financial services.
He emphasized that “financial inclusion, customer centricity, and the development of a secure digital financial system remain top priorities for the RBI.” He further stated that technology can help deliver financial services beyond traditional banking channels, bringing them closer to villages and households.
Malhotra described fintech as a crucial partner and stressed the need for greater collaboration between fintech companies and financial institutions to achieve comprehensive financial inclusion and strengthen customer-focused services.
The Global Fintech Fest 2026 also marked the launch of India’s first tokenized corporate bond pilot, representing a significant step toward utilizing blockchain and central bank digital currency (CBDC) in the settlement of securities and assets.
Additionally, the fest introduced instant RuPay cards, open-source ATM facilities for merchant UPI QR issuance, and a “Credit Line on UPI” feature for select government-backed credit schemes, along with a three-party cash deposit system under the Aadhaar-enabled Payment System (AEPS).
