India Sets New T20 Record Against Pakistan at Asian Games 2026

Nishin, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : India faced Pakistan in the final of the Asian Games 2026 at Korogi Sports Park, where the Indian team put up an impressive score of 211 runs after losing six wickets in their 20 overs. This total marks India’s highest ever in T20 internationals against Pakistan. Previously, in a T20 match held in Ahmedabad in 2012, India set a score of 192 runs while batting first, and in 2022, they scored 181 runs against the same opponent.

The start of the match was not ideal for India. Vaibhav SuryaVanshi was dismissed for 15 runs off 9 balls, falling to Sam Ayub. Following him, Sanju Samson struggled to make an impact, scoring just 2 runs before heading back to the pavilion. Captain Shreyas Iyer also faced difficulties, managing only 21 runs from 24 balls before getting out.

However, Abhishek Sharma‘s explosive batting provided some relief. He scored a remarkable 61 runs off just 28 balls, hitting 3 fours and 7 sixes. Ishan Kishan added 20 runs from 18 balls. After Abhishek’s dismissal, Tilak Varma took charge, completing his half-century in just 21 balls. He remained unbeaten at 51 runs off 22 balls, with 3 fours and 4 sixes. Shivam Dube also contributed significantly, scoring 27 runs from 15 balls, and together with Tilak, they added 62 runs for the sixth wicket. Shivam played aggressively, maintaining a strike rate of 180 with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

This high-scoring match sets the stage for an exciting contest as India aims for gold.
