India Elects to Bat First Against Pakistan in Asian Games Cricket Final

Nishin, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : The Asian Games 2026 has reached its climax with the men’s cricket final featuring India and Pakistan. In a highly anticipated match, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first.

India secured its place in the final after defeating Sri Lanka, while Pakistan advanced by overcoming Bangladesh. Matches between these two cricketing giants have always been intense, but in recent encounters, India has had the upper hand, winning decisively. It remains to be seen if Pakistan can provide a challenge in this crucial match.

Key players to watch for India include Vaibhav Suryaanshi, Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Jasprit Bumrah. The Indian team will need to take Pakistan seriously, particularly players like Sahibzada Farhan, Maj Sadakat, Saeem Ayub, and Usman Khan, with Farhan having a strong record against India.

In the previous Asia Cup, India triumphed over Pakistan three times in a row. The trend continued in the T20 World Cup, where India also emerged victorious. Overall, the two teams have faced each other in 17 T20 matches, with India winning 14 times and Pakistan securing just three victories.

India’s playing XI includes: Vaibhav Suryaanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Shreyas Iyer (captain), Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dubey, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, and Jasprit Bumrah.

Pakistan’s lineup features: Sahibzada Farhan (captain), Maj Sadakat, Usman Khan (wicketkeeper), Saeem Ayub, Hasan Nawaz, Abdul Samad, Arafat Minhas, Ahmed Daniyal, Saad Masood, Abrar Ahmed, and Sufyan Muqeet.
