Imran Khan Detained Ahead of CJP Protest in Mumbai, Claims No Demands

Mumbai, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : Actor Imran Khan was taken into custody by Mumbai police at August Kranti Maidan, the site of a planned protest in support of the CJP movement. The demonstration aimed to back ongoing protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and to call for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Speaking to the media, Imran stated, “I have no demands. I am not in a position to ask anything from the people. I am not part of any organization, so I am not speaking on behalf of anyone.”

Shortly after his detention, he shared a photo from the police van on his official Instagram account, humorously captioning it, “Looks like I’m going for a drive.”

His girlfriend was also apprehended alongside him. From inside the police vehicle, she posted a video saying, “Friends, we have been detained. We are all in a police car. I am sending a pin. Can you follow it? I don’t know where we are going. Hope everything will be fine.”

Imran’s cousin, actress Zain Khan, who was present at the protest location, shared a light-hearted video comparing Imran’s current situation to that of his debut film, “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na.”

The protest was organized under the banner “Hum Bharat Ke Log” at 3:30 PM on Saturday. Prior to the event, police established strict security measures around August Kranti Maidan, erecting barricades and closing off access routes. Many individuals attempting to join the protest were detained by law enforcement.
