New Delhi, March 6 : Imagining industrial security without Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is not possible. It needs professional skill to secure industrial establishment across the country, said Amit Shah on Home Minister at 53rd Raising Day of CISF at Ghaziabad. “CISF personnel not only perform their duty in a professonial manner but also create a sense of security among people,” said Shah CISF has been silently helping the grow the economy for the last 52 years, he added. “During the last 52 years, CISF has grown manifold in its credibility and capability. With a strength of over 1.64 lakh personnel, CISF provides security cover to 354 vital installations across the country including 65 Airports, Seaports, Nuclear and Space installations, Delhi Metro, Steel and Power plants,” said Sheel Vardhan Singh, Director General, CISF. “The Special Security Group (SSG) of CISF provides security to 162 various categories of protectees. CISF also provides Fire Service cover to 108 ts,” said Singh. Kalaripayattu, a form of martial art, was demonstrated by CISF personnel of Special Tactics and Training Wing (STTW). They showcased their abilities in responding to critical incidents that could take place in the Delhi Metro Rail. CISF has been inducted in 5 new ts including 5 Fire wing inductions during the year 2021. It has the largest professional, well trained and equipped fire-fighting force in the country providing fire protection and fire-fighting cover to 108 Installations. The Fire Service Training Institute (FSTI) of CISF is located in the campus of NISA at Hyderabad. “The Fire Service attended 3570 fire calls and secured property worth Rs 81.57 crore during the year 2021 and January 2022,” added Singh. CISF has been providing security to 11 private establishments, Bharat Biotech Limited, Hyderabad, Infosys Technologies Bangalore, Electronic City Bangalore, Nayara Energy Ltd Jamnagar, Hotel Terminal 1C CSIA Mumbai, Patanjali Food & Herbal Park Haridwar, Infosys Technologies Mysore, Reliance IT Park Navi Mumbai, Infosys Technologies Pune, Reliance Refinery Petrochemical Jamnagar and Tata Steel Kalinganagar Odisha. CISF took over the charge of the security of DMRC with a sanctioned strength of 1633 on April 15, 2007. Presently, the strength of DMRC including DAMEL is over 12,500, covering 249 (243+6) stations. Around13,228 CCTV cameras have been installed to cover all the stations. Daily footfall of passengers is nearly 30 lakh. CISF has the largest percentage of women officers and personnel in the rank from Constable to Inspector General, amongst Central Armed Police Forces. The first batch of CISF women personnel passed out in the year 1987 and now it has over 9200 women personnel which is 6.38 per cent of the total Force strength. CM SY 1358
