Kolkata, April 1: Former TMC MLA Humayun Kabir has received support from AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi in Murshidabad. Expressing his delight, Kabir challenged others to hold a rally of similar scale.
In a conversation, Kabir stated that in his 43-year political career, the rally he conducted today was unmatched. He noted that while he was rallying, Mamata Banerjee was also addressing her supporters, with 1,700 people watching her live compared to over 7,000 for him. “A hint is enough for the wise,” he remarked.
Kabir launched a direct attack on Abhishek Banerjee, asserting that he would defeat him by 70,000 votes. He criticized Banerjee’s claim that Mamata is not the party but that he is. “If Mamata loses, it will be Abhishek’s defeat,” he added.
He urged the people of Bengal, who have given time to the Left, Congress, and TMC, to trust him this time. “Give me the responsibility of West Bengal for five years. I promise to provide ₹3,500 to mothers and sisters. My manifesto is already declared,” he stated.
Kabir confidently predicted that when the assembly election results are announced, his party will emerge as the largest, with BJP in second place and TMC in third. He pointed out that while Mamata Banerjee has been Chief Minister three times and has given tickets to only 47 Muslims, he has fielded 114 Muslims in this election. “If over 100 Muslims win, I will demand the Chief Minister’s position from the Governor,” he declared.
He revealed that AIMIM is contesting in 14 assembly seats, while his party is running in 193. “I will secure the most seats,” he concluded.
