Hamirpur (HP), March 12 : Nestled in the beautiful pine trees valley of Hamirpur Pradesh and located near the old temple of Maan Jhaniari Devi (Maan Durga), the Hotel Management Institute of Hamirpur is fast emerging a prestigious institute of the country providing the best training to the students to work in world famous hotels of India and abroad, it was reported on Saturday. Jointly sponsored by the on Ministry of Tourism and Himachal Pradesh Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, this institute was established in the year 2010. So far about 700 youth of B.Sc degree craft course and about 400 youth of diploma from this institute have made their mark by occupying high positions in the country and abroad since 2013 when the first batch passed out from here. Its main objective was to encourage the students towards professional life and self-employment in their future, he said while talking to the local reporters last evening. Hotel Taj Yesvantpur, Hotel Hilton, Hotel Hyatt, Hotel Radisson, Hotel Le Meridien, ITC Group of Hotels, Lemon Tree Hotel, Club Mahindra Hotel, Leela Palace Hotel, The Taj Hotel, Devyani International Hotel, Seven Seas Hotel, Jio World Hospitality, Reputed hotels like Varman Hospitality, Haldi Ram and JW Merit Hotel have given jobs to the students of IHM Hamirpur. The three-year degree and diploma students of this institute have topped in All India rankings and have made their mark in various hotels and other institutions. Due to the global pandemic Covid-19, the students passing out in the year 2021-22 have performed satisfactorily and are getting excellent placements. The Executive Principal said that IHM Hamirpur is offering three-year B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration degree. This degree is jointly awarded by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Noida and Indira Gandhi National Open versity. Interested students can get this degree by qualifying for the Joint Entrance Exam-NCHM-2022 and taking admission in IHM Hamirpur.
