Hockey India Announces 33-Member Core Group Ahead of FIH Pro League

New Delhi: Hockey India has announced a 33-member probable core group for the Senior Men’s National Camp, scheduled to be held from 1 to 7 February in Rourkela, Odisha.

The upcoming phase of the FIH Men’s Pro League will take place from 10 to 15 February at the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela. This camp is part of the team’s preparation for the league.

This domestic stage will mark the beginning of India’s campaign for the year. The team is gathering following the recently concluded Hero Hockey India League (HIL). The league provided players with valuable competitive experience and allowed young talent to play alongside top international players.

Head coach Craig Fulton stated, “After the Hero Hockey India League, we felt it was the right time to make changes within the team. We have decided to rest some senior players to manage workload, while rewarding those who have earned their place. The Rourkela and Hobart phases of the Pro League are important in the selection process as we move forward to finalise the squads for the World Cup and Asian Games.”

The 33-member list for the Senior Men’s National Camp includes:

Goalkeepers: Pawan, Suraj Karkera, Mohit Honegalli, Shashikumar, and Prindeep Singh.

Defenders: Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Sanjay, Harmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Sumit, Povanna Chandroo Bobby, Yashdeep Sihag, Neelam Sanjeep Jes, and Amandeep Lakra.

Midfielders: Rajinder Singh, Manmeet Singh, Hardik Singh, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Vishnu Kant Singh, Raj Kumar Pal, Neelkanth Sharma, and Roshan Kujur.

Forwards: Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh, Shilanand Lakra, Mandeep Singh, Arjit Singh Hundal, Angad Bir Singh, Uttam Singh, Selvam Karthi, Aditya Arjun Lalge, and Maninder Singh.

This camp will play a crucial role in India’s preparation for the FIH Pro League and upcoming international tournaments.
