
Thiruvananthapuram, May 18: Punya Salila Srivastava, Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, addressed an event in Thiruvananthapuram marking the 60th anniversary of HLL Lifecare Limited.
She highlighted that this organization, established in 1966, has long been recognized for its significant contributions to the healthcare sector. HLL Lifecare has played a crucial role in public health, making strides in national family planning, innovation, healthcare products, diagnostics, and infrastructure development.
Secretary Punya Salila emphasized that HLL Lifecare Limited has effectively fulfilled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for healthcare. The organization has consistently prioritized public health, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that HLL Lifecare has met the Prime Minister’s expectations.
She noted that HLL Lifecare has identified existing discrepancies in the healthcare sector and has taken significant steps to address them. The organization has worked diligently to ensure that there are no flaws in the healthcare system. HLL Lifecare’s efforts in improving patients’ lives are commendable.
Additionally, she highlighted the contributions made by HLL Lifecare during Operation Sindoor. She stressed the importance of the organization’s role in delivering health supplies to critical locations during this sensitive operation. HLL Lifecare successfully transported health materials to states like Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir during challenging times. The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between HLL Lifecare Limited and prestigious institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. The aim of this collaboration is to promote research, advance healthcare innovation, and accelerate the development of cutting-edge technology tailored to India’s public health needs.
Furthermore, the Union Health Secretary inaugurated an upgraded menstrual cup manufacturing facility at HLL’s Akkulam factory in Thiruvananthapuram during the program.
