
Guwahati, May 5: In the recent assembly elections in Assam, the BJP and NDA coalition made a remarkable comeback to power. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that he had anticipated this victory a month prior to the elections.
Sarma shared a photo of a diary page on the social media platform X, which included figures such as “Best 101, Better 90+, and Worst 88+.” He noted that he had assessed the potential outcomes of the election on April 9, the day voting concluded, and documented his predictions.
When the actual results were announced, Sarma expressed his delight, stating that the BJP performed even better than his best estimates, winning one additional seat. He expressed gratitude for the public mandate, describing it as a profound blessing from the people.
Sarma characterized this victory as a “historic blessing” from the public, emphasizing that the results reflect the trust of the state’s citizens and a commitment to development-oriented politics.
On the day the election results were declared, Sarma also took to X to celebrate the NDA’s success. He mentioned that, with the blessings of the people of Assam, 102 NDA candidates emerged victorious, including 82 from the BJP, 10 from the AGP, and 10 from the BPF. He congratulated all the winning candidates and stated that they would work together as “Team Assam” to achieve the goal of a developed Assam.
This victory is seen as a significant political achievement for the BJP and NDA in Assam. Sarma’s personal triumph has further bolstered the party’s morale, as he secured a substantial victory in his Jalukbari constituency by a margin of 89,434 votes, demonstrating his strong hold in the state.
