Mumbai, April 25: Maharashtra Congress President Harshvardhan Sapkal has criticized Pandit Dhirendra Shastri, the head of Bageshwar Dham, for suggesting that he sees himself as a divine figure.
In a conversation with reporters, Sapkal described Shastri’s remarks as indicative of a mental distortion. He accused Shastri of spreading falsehoods about Shivaji Maharaj in Maharashtra, asserting that no one seems willing to challenge his statements.
Sapkal further commented that BJP leaders should send all their children to the RSS, and he would have no objections. He suggested that BJP members should also encourage their children studying abroad to join the organization, but they should first register their disdain for the national flag.
He emphasized that Shivaji Maharaj was a leader for all, advocating for gender equality and inclusivity. According to Sapkal, the RSS and BJP aim to suppress any ideas that promote collective welfare.
Regarding the recent defection of Aam Aadmi Party MPs to the BJP, Sapkal claimed that the BJP lacks confidence in its own leaders and charisma, which is why they are pursuing an agenda to recruit members from other parties. He accused them of having a tendency to fragment other political groups.
Notably, Dhirendra Shastri had previously urged Hindu families in Nagpur to have at least four children, suggesting that one should be dedicated to the RSS for service.
