Gujarats Industrial Growth: A Legacy of Contribution, Says Amit Shah

Ahmedabad, May 17: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah stated that Gujarat has significantly contributed to the country’s industrial development since independence. He noted that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership as Chief Minister, the state has adopted a structured approach to this growth.

Amit Shah emphasized that Gujarat’s journey from 2002 to 2026 in industrial development, infrastructure, ease of doing business, and entrepreneurship has been pivotal in establishing a global identity. The systematic development seen in Gujarat’s industrial sector is rare elsewhere. This success stems from the Gujarati community’s long-standing embrace of entrepreneurship and innovation.

During the launch of Gujarat’s first SEZ IT Park, ‘Million Minds Tech City,’ Amit Shah remarked that India is positioning itself as a founding nation in emerging fields like artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, and semiconductors.

At the inauguration of the project’s first phase in Tragad, Shah noted that the country is advancing from a position of lagging in various sectors to establishing a strong presence in technologies expected to shape the global economy over the next 25 years.

He asserted that AI and deep tech are the future of the economy. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, India has become a founding nation in all emerging sectors. Once behind in many areas, India is now solidifying its presence in sectors that will define the global economy.

Shah pointed out that fields such as robotics, quantum computing, semiconductors, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, defense technology, and space technology will require a large pool of highly skilled youth and modern infrastructure. While intelligence is already present, it is essential to provide them with space, environment, and collaboration. He added that technology parks like ‘Million Minds Tech City’ will aid in creating such ecosystems.

The first phase of this project is being developed over 1.35 million square feet at a cost of approximately ₹1,100 crores, providing workspace for 9,000 highly skilled professionals.

This seven-phase project is expected to attract around ₹15,000 crores in investment and create over 63,000 high-value jobs in the next five years. Amit Shah noted that the increasing focus on technology parks and global capability centers is transforming Gujarat’s economic activities.

He also emphasized the need for skilled leadership and modern thinking in urban planning and infrastructure development to keep pace with global changes.
