Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Declares ₹223.54 Crore Dividend for Fiscal Year 2025-26

GMDC announces a ₹223.54 crore dividend to the Gujarat government for FY 2025-26, expanding its operations in mining and renewable energy.

Gandhinagar, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) has declared a dividend of ₹223.54 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26, which was presented to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. The check representing the state government’s share was handed over by Chief Secretary M.K. Das in the presence of senior state officials and GMDC representatives.

Founded in 1963, GMDC is a state-owned enterprise engaged in the mining and sale of various minerals, including lignite, bauxite, limestone, fluorite, and silica sand. Its operations are integral to the state’s mineral resource sector, providing raw materials for industrial use.

In addition to its traditional mining activities, GMDC has secured three coal blocks in Odisha—Baitarani West, Burapahar, and Kudanali-Lubri—further enhancing Gujarat’s long-term energy security. This expansion marks a significant development for GMDC, broadening its operations beyond its current mineral mining business.

The corporation is also active in the renewable energy sector and is exploring opportunities in rare earth elements, copper, and other strategic minerals. These areas represent key focus points as GMDC seeks to diversify its activities beyond its existing mineral portfolio.

The dividend payment comes at a time when the state-owned corporation is exploring new opportunities in mining, energy, and strategic resources. However, details regarding GMDC’s revenue, profits, and dividend payout ratio for 2025-26 were not disclosed during the announcement.

Present at the check handover were GMDC Chairman and Chief Minister’s Chief Advisor Hasmukh Adhia, Managing Director Ajay Bhadu, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjeev Kumar, and Additional Principal Secretary Vikrant Pandey.
