Goa Celebrates World Photography Day with Honors and Recognition

Panaji, August 19: On the occasion of World Photography Day, individuals associated with photography and winners of a photography competition were honored in Goa. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant extended his greetings to the photographers and praised their efforts to showcase the changing landscape of the state through photography.

During the event, the Press Media Photographers Association of Goa organized a photography exhibition and competition, attracting a large number of photographers and participants. The Chief Minister congratulated all participants and awarded the winners.

While wishing all photographers well, Chief Minister Sawant emphasized that photography is a vital medium for observing society and time. He commended the exhibition and competition organized by Goa’s photographers and the Press Media Photographers Association. He noted that all participants endeavored to present various subjects and scenes through their cameras. The Chief Minister appreciated their efforts and congratulated them.

Highlighting the significance of photography, Chief Minister Sawant urged photographers to always showcase something unique, as a picture speaks a thousand words. He called on them to depict the changes that have occurred in Goa through their images. The transformation of Goa over the past twelve years can be effectively illustrated through photography, which conveys development and change more powerfully than words.

He encouraged photographers to capture the journey of Goa’s development with their cameras, showing the changes that have taken place in the state over the years. CM Sawant noted that significant infrastructure development has occurred in Goa in recent years. Documenting changes in roads, public facilities, and other infrastructure through photographs is essential for future generations. This photography competition and exhibition were organized with this purpose in mind, providing photographers an opportunity to present the development and changes in the state from their perspective.
