German Politician Praises RSS for Its Impactful Social Work on Youth

Rahul Kumar commends RSSs social initiatives, emphasizing their influence on youth during the launch of a new book in Frankfurt.

Frankfurt, October 18 (Daily Kiran) : Rahul Kumar, the Deputy Head of Frankfurt and the first Asian member of the city parliament, highlighted the significant social contributions of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) during the launch of the book “Hundred Years Young: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.” This event marked the centenary of the organization, and Kumar expressed admiration for its impactful work, especially aimed at inspiring youth.

In discussing his experiences with the RSS, Kumar noted, “The social work of the RSS is the most impressive aspect, particularly for young people. Here in Germany, we do not have the RSS, but we have the HSS, which is doing similar work in Europe. Since my childhood, I have observed their activities, which include cultural programs and numerous projects for youth. These efforts have greatly influenced both me and my older brother.”

Kumar described the book as a potential source of inspiration for young readers. He stated, “If they read about how someone of Indian descent became the first Asian city parliament member in an international city like Frankfurt, it can motivate them. My goal is to impart this spirit and inspiration that is inherent in our blood. Every Indian, every person of Indian origin, carries a sense of pride for Bharat Mata, and this should be felt deeply. I believe that facing future challenges will not be as daunting as they have been in the past.”

When asked how his personal experiences have shaped his understanding of the RSS, Kumar emphasized the importance of direct engagement. “To understand the warmth of water, you must immerse yourself in it. To know the RSS or the HSS, you need to connect with people. For me, the RSS represents righteousness, service, and community,” he explained.

Reflecting on the RSS’s century-long journey, Kumar acknowledged the challenges the organization has faced. He remarked, “Completing 100 years while adhering to the principles of humanity, service, and culture is no easy feat. This milestone is a significant achievement for me, the RSS, and the entire community.”

Kumar also discussed the friendly relations between India and Germany, noting the frequent exchanges of delegations. He recalled a recent visit from the Chief Minister of Hesse to Maharashtra and his own trip to India with a state delegation, where agreements were made with various states.

Regarding Indian culture, Kumar expressed that it is not lived in Germany as it is in India. Festivals like Diwali and Holi hold deep significance for him, evoking joy and connection. He mentioned the importance of bridging the cultural gap for the younger generation living in Europe, facilitated by the HSS through cultural activities.

Recently appointed as the Deputy Head of Frankfurt, Kumar sees his role as an opportunity to address local issues and connect diverse communities. “This is a chance for me and those connected to me to learn more about my culture, my ideas, and my projects related to India,” he said.

Kumar noted that India has gained substantial international representation in recent years, particularly in Europe. He aims to connect more young people globally, especially those with Indian roots.

On the topic of Prime Minister Modi’s focus on youth empowerment and innovation, Kumar stated, “I cannot dictate how India can progress, as it is already among the top countries in the world. Everyone is talking about India, AI, and startups, and we see many people coming to Germany from abroad and thriving.”
