New Delhi: If you have a domestic gas connection, here’s an important update you should not ignore. The government has mandated that all gas cylinder consumers complete their e-KYC verification by June 30, 2025 — or risk having their gas supply suspended. The directive aims to streamline consumer data and prevent misuse of subsidized gas services.

Government Issues New Guidelines for Gas Consumers

The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has issued clear instructions to major gas distributors — Indane Gas, Bharat Gas, and Hindustan Petroleum Gas — to accelerate the e-KYC process for their domestic customers.

Dealers across states, including Punjab, have been actively informing consumers about the requirement. Yet as of June 22, 2025, only 37% of Punjab’s domestic gas consumers had completed the mandatory e-KYC, according to official reports.

Gas Supply May Be Halted for Non-Compliance

Arun Agarwal, General Secretary of the Ludhiana LG Dealer Federation Association, confirmed that gas agencies will temporarily suspend cylinder deliveries for customers who do not complete their e-KYC by the June 30 deadline — in accordance with Central Government directives.

To avoid any service disruption, consumers are strongly advised to complete this simple process in the coming days.

How to Complete Your e-KYC — It’s Free & Easy

Completing the e-KYC is completely free and can be done conveniently from home. Customers can use the official mobile app, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store, and follow the on-screen instructions to verify their identity.

With this user-friendly process, there’s no reason to delay. Completing your e-KYC now ensures continued, uninterrupted delivery of domestic gas cylinders after June 30, 2025.
