Four Bangladeshi women arrested while crossing the porous border; 30 cattles seized

Siliguri, April 2 : Four Bangladeshi women have been arrested for unauthorised entry into the Indian territory and seized 30 live cattles and confiscated drugs and other contraband goods worth over Rs 9 lakh from the Indo-Bangla border in northern districts of West Bengal, The troops of the BSF’s 148 Battalion acting on a tip-off at the border outpost of Changrabandha, apprehended four Bangladeshi women while they were trying to cross over to Bangladesh illegally, official sources said on Saturday. ” They ( women) revealed that they came from Mumbai and wanted to go to Bangladesh. All the apprehended Bangladeshi Nationals were handed over to PS Mekhliganj,” a BSF comm que said. The BSF during routine frisking and patrolling also seized 30 cattle heads, 770 bottles of Phensedyl, and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of seized items is Rs.9,01,363/-. XC-PC KK
