New Delhi, April 6: On the occasion of Babu Jagjivan Ram’s 119th birth anniversary, former President Ram Nath Kovind and former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar paid their respects with floral tributes on Sunday, as confirmed by an official.

Both dignitaries attended a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment at the memorial, Samta Sthal, located at Delhi Gate.

The Ministry also hosted an interfaith prayer at 6 Krishna Menon Marg in collaboration with the Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, where the memorial dedicated to Babu Jagjivan Ram is situated.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid heartfelt tributes to the former minister, who played a pivotal role in the Green Revolution as Agriculture Minister and led India to victory in the 1971 war as Defence Minister.

In a post on the social media platform X, Home Minister Shah expressed his deep respect for Babu Jagjivan Ram, a pioneer of social justice, on his birth anniversary.
