
Noida, March 17: The Prime Minister Housing Scheme (Urban) 2.0 has provided a significant boost to 90,000 beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath transferred the first installment of ₹900 crores directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries during an event held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow on Monday.
The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to economically weaker and needy families, helping them realize their dream of owning a permanent home. This state-level program was also broadcast live at the Gautam Buddh Nagar Collectorate.
Dhirendra Singh, the MLA from Jewar, attended the event as the chief guest. He and the District Magistrate presented approval letters for ₹1 lakh each to the selected 220 beneficiaries in the district as the first installment.
Addressing the audience, MLA Dhirendra Singh emphasized that the Prime Minister Housing Scheme is a crucial welfare initiative aimed at providing safe and permanent housing to poor and needy families. He noted that both the central and state governments are continuously working to ensure that the benefits of development schemes reach the most marginalized individuals in society. He congratulated the beneficiaries, stating that this financial aid would be a significant step towards building their own homes.
The District Magistrate also extended good wishes to all beneficiaries receiving the scheme’s benefits. He assured that the district administration is committed to ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries receive the scheme’s advantages in a timely and transparent manner, with housing construction adhering to established standards.
Project Officer and Deputy Collector Ved Prakash Pandey informed that today, a total of 220 beneficiaries in the district received ₹1 lakh each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under the Prime Minister Housing Scheme Urban 2.0.
The beneficiaries include 115 from Jewar Municipality, 58 from Rabupura Municipality, 18 from Bilaspur Municipality, 15 from Dankaur Municipality, and 14 from Jahangirpur Municipality.
The event was attended by Chief Development Officer Dr. Shivakant Dwivedi, Municipal Magistrate Arvind Mishra, Cooperative Department’s Alok Ranjan, City Mission Manager Sheela Kumari, Civil Engineer Piyush Kumar, District Coordinator Akash Sharma, Community Organizer Ravindra Singh, among other officials and a large number of beneficiaries.
