FIR Filed Against Facebook User for Offensive Remarks on Mayawati

Lucknow, February 11: An FIR has been registered in Lucknow concerning offensive comments made about former Chief Minister and BSP leader Mayawati on social media. The action was initiated based on a complaint from Gangaram Verma, the president of the Cantt Assembly, who accused a Facebook user named Shreya Yadav of posting objectionable content against Mayawati.

Verma stated that the language used in the post was highly disrespectful. He has demanded appropriate action following the filing of the complaint.

According to reports, a meeting of the Bahujan Samaj Party was taking place on February 9 at around 4 PM in Damodar Nagar, Alam Bagh, hosted at the residence of Devesh Kumar Gautam, the Cantt Assembly in-charge. During the meeting, Verma reportedly came across the offensive Facebook post while checking his mobile.

He alleged that the post from the account named Shreya Yadav contained extremely objectionable and inappropriate language regarding Mayawati. Verma expressed that the post hurt the sentiments of himself and other party workers present. He condemned the language as unacceptable in a civilized society.

In his complaint addressed to the Krishna Nagar police station, Verma requested immediate action and the registration of an FIR against the relevant Facebook account.

The police have registered a case based on Verma’s complaint. A screenshot of the alleged Facebook post was attached to the complaint. On February 10, the Krishna Nagar police station was instructed to register the case. Currently, the police are investigating the matter.

Authorities are looking into the identity behind the Facebook account and the circumstances surrounding the post. Further actions will be determined based on the investigation’s findings.
