New Delhi, August 1: The Delhi Police uncovered a fraudulent packing and movers company on Saturday, arresting one individual in connection with the case. The accused is alleged to have deceived customers by demanding extra money and withholding their household goods. Authorities reported that the police recovered the complainant’s entire household items from Gurugram, Haryana, and discovered another criminal case linked to the suspect.
According to police, the accused lured customers through a fake packing and movers company. After collecting household items for transport, he demanded additional payment and failed to deliver the goods. Following extensive technical surveillance and investigation, the suspect was located and apprehended.
This case emerged after an e-FIR was filed on July 12 at the Laxmi Nagar police station under sections 305 and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The complaint was lodged by Kumar Vikas Anand, a resident of the Housewali Mohalla in Laxmi Nagar.
The complainant informed the police that he had hired the services of Space Logistics Packers and Movers to transport his household items from Delhi to Bihar. Company representatives collected part of the goods on July 1 and the remaining items on July 8. However, instead of transporting and delivering the goods, the accused allegedly demanded an additional ₹20,000.
The complainant initially paid ₹500 and later transferred ₹19,500 to the accused. Despite receiving the full amount, the accused neither delivered the household items nor refunded the money, prompting the victim to contact the police.
Head Constable Manoj Khari was assigned to the investigation. Under the supervision of Inspector Ramesh Pratap, SHO of Laxmi Nagar police station, and guidance from Assistant Commissioner of Police Nitya Radhakrishnan of Preet Vihar, a special team was formed, including Head Constable Manoj Khari and Praveen Teotia.
During the investigation, police conducted multiple raids and searches to locate the suspects and uncover the operations of the fraudulent firm. The mobile number used in the crime was kept under technical surveillance, and electronic and digital evidence was thoroughly examined.
Based on intelligence and technical analysis, the police identified and arrested the accused, Ajay Kumar Singh, a 26-year-old resident of Vishnu Garden in Gurugram. During police questioning, the accused revealed the location where he had hidden the complainant’s goods.
Acting on this information, police recovered the entire household items from Gurugram. The recovered items included 15 carton boxes containing a refrigerator, washing machine, LCD television, kitchen utensils, household goods, and other miscellaneous items. The property was seized according to legal procedures.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was also wanted in another criminal case registered under section 316(2) of the IPC at the Shakarpur police station in East Delhi.
