West Bengals Dilip Ghosh shares insights on the excitement surrounding Durga Puja and addresses various political issues.

Midnapore, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : West Bengal’s Panchayat and Rural Development Minister, Dilip Ghosh, expressed his excitement about the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations during a recent press conference. He highlighted the festive atmosphere and pleasant weather, noting that the worship of the goddess typically begins from Mahashashthi and continues until Navami.
“This year, the celebrations have already begun, and there is significant enthusiasm among the people,” Ghosh stated. He added that the government inaugurated the festivities on Mahalaya day, contributing to the heightened excitement. Starting today, the rituals in various pandals will commence, and he anticipates a historic celebration.
Commenting on the CJP’s ‘Tiranga March,’ Ghosh remarked, “India is a religious country, and according to tradition, Navratri and Durga Puja are celebrated nationwide. However, some groups are attempting to disrupt the joy of the people through political protests, creating tension in the country. The public will hold them accountable.”
Regarding Mahua Moitra’s situation, Ghosh noted an increase in agitation among opposition members, stating that they lack a coherent strategy. “Some go to the Supreme Court, while others make arbitrary claims,” he said.
On the exit notice issued to actor Imran Khan, Ghosh emphasized that today’s India will not support those who oppose its traditions and culture.
Discussing the Supreme Court’s ruling on reservations, Ghosh mentioned that while reservations are beneficial, no individual should receive double benefits. He called for legislation to address this issue, given the public’s concerns.
Finally, Ghosh addressed the rising dengue cases following the rains, assuring that the government is taking necessary precautions. “As we gather here on Shashthi, measures are being implemented to control dengue,” he said, urging the public to remain vigilant.
