ED Raids Punjab Minister Sanjeev Aroras Residence Amid Political Tensions

Chandigarh, April 17: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid at the residence of Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Friday, escalating political tensions in the region. Leaders from the Punjab Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) condemned the ED’s actions.

Punjab’s Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema spoke out, stating, “In any state where elections occur, especially those governed by opposition parties, the BJP targets elected leaders one by one to instill fear among the populace. They misuse the ED and CBI for this purpose.”

Cheema emphasized, “The people of Punjab are brave. This is the land of warriors. We will not be intimidated by the BJP’s ED-CBI tactics. We will fight for the preservation of our democracy. AAP will stand with the three crore people of Punjab to protect the Constitution crafted by B.R. Ambedkar. It is well-known that wherever elections are held, the BJP misuses the ED and CBI. Anyone who has committed wrongs in Punjab should face action under the Constitution. No one is above the law.”

AAP leader Anurag Dhanda remarked, “In the past three days, this is the second raid on AAP leaders. Today, it was Sanjeev Arora. Prior to this, numerous raids have targeted AAP leaders by the ED and CBI. The government should clarify how much black money their agency has recovered from these raids. There should be some results from these operations. The agency and its officials incur expenses, funded by taxpayers. The BJP merely squanders public money. Not a single case from the ED or CBI has been successful in court.”

Dhanda further criticized, “They have openly begun to enforce dictatorship. In any state where elections are held, the BJP sends the ED-CBI first and starts pressuring leaders from other parties. The BJP lacks candidates to contest all 117 seats in Punjab. If the BJP continues its oppression, the people will respond. They have welcomed the most corrupt leaders into their party, yet no raids occur at their residences.”
