Dussehra Celebrations in Noida: 35 Locations for Ravan Dahan, 2,200 Police Deployed for Safety

Noida prepares for Dussehra with 35 Ravan effigies to be burned and 2,200 police officers ensuring safety during celebrations.

Noida, October 20 (Daily Kiran) : Dussehra, symbolizing the victory of truth over falsehood, will be celebrated in Noida today with great enthusiasm. The city will witness Ravan Dahan at 35 different locations, alongside the immersion of Durga idols at approximately 200 sites. Anticipating large crowds, local authorities have implemented extensive security measures.

To maintain law and order and ensure the safety of worshippers, around 2,200 police personnel will be deployed, including 300 female officers. The fire department is also on high alert, with 26 fire engines and about 250 firefighters ready to respond to any emergencies.

In light of the festivities, Noida Traffic Police has devised a special diversion plan. Starting from 2 PM until late evening, traffic patterns will change across various routes in the city. Authorities are advising drivers to familiarize themselves with the designated routes before heading out.

Traffic is expected to be heavy on major roads, particularly on the road leading from Rajnigandha to Sector 12, Sector 22, and Sector 56, known as Master Plan Road-1. Due to the Dussehra events, vehicle movement on this route may be affected. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes if necessary.

Changes will also be made around Noida Stadium in Sector 21, where events are scheduled. Additional diversions may be implemented in the Sector 62 area as needed. Police have indicated that these traffic measures will remain in place until crowds have dispersed after Ravan Dahan.

Residents are urged to avoid bringing vehicles unnecessarily close to the event sites and to follow the instructions of traffic police. DCP Traffic Syed Ali Abbas stated that special arrangements have been made for public convenience, including a helpline number, 9971009001, for traffic-related inquiries and assistance.

Motorists are reminded to park only in designated areas and avoid blocking roads, as improper parking can lead to traffic congestion. Enforcement actions may be taken against vehicles violating parking regulations, and cranes will be available to remove obstructing vehicles when necessary.

With fire safety in mind, the fire department is on standby during the Dussehra and Durga idol immersion events. The focus will be on ensuring public safety and managing crowds effectively. Police and local administration are appealing to the public to celebrate Dussehra peacefully, avoid spreading rumors, adhere to traffic regulations, and cooperate with law enforcement to enjoy a safe and smooth festival experience.
