DTC Reports Significant Financial Growth, Moves from Loss to Profit

New Delhi, April 17: The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has made a significant leap from losses to profits, reflecting a notable improvement in its financial status. This advancement is attributed to ongoing reforms and enhanced operational efficiency under the Delhi government. According to the latest financial data, DTC’s total revenue surged from ₹822.53 crores in 2024-25 to ₹995.55 crores by March 26, 2026, marking an increase of approximately ₹173 crores.

A detailed analysis of various revenue sources reveals the direct factors contributing to this growth. Revenue from ticket sales rose from ₹327.23 crores to ₹379.77 crores, showing an increase of ₹52.54 crores year-on-year. Additionally, earnings from special hire services grew from ₹82.65 crores to ₹99.21 crores, reflecting an increase of ₹16.56 crores during the same period.

The most significant growth was observed in miscellaneous revenue sources, which increased from ₹342.67 crores to ₹446.59 crores, representing a remarkable rise of ₹103.92 crores. This increase is attributed to improved performance across various revenue streams, including advertising, rental income, and fines, all of which have played a crucial role in DTC’s overall financial recovery. The corporation also reported an increase in average monthly revenue from ₹68.54 crores to ₹82.96 crores, showcasing strong financial discipline and effective resource utilization.

Highlighting this achievement, Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh stated that this transformation is the result of the collective efforts, commitment, and dedication of the entire DTC family. He expressed gratitude to the honorable Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs. Rekha Gupta, noting that such changes would not have been possible without her continuous guidance and support.

The Transport Minister emphasized that previous administrations had left DTC in a financially precarious state, burdened by losses and inefficiencies. In contrast, the current government has taken significant steps to revitalize the transport corporation, streamline operations, and transform it into a financially viable, stable, and accountable public transport entity.

Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh further stated that the government’s vision extends beyond merely increasing revenue. The primary focus is on strengthening institutional capacity, improving service delivery, and ensuring that every citizen in the capital receives reliable, safe, and accessible transport services.

The Delhi government remains committed to continuous reforms, expanding revenue sources, and incorporating modern and sustainable transport solutions to enhance long-term financial stability and improve passenger experiences.
