Puducherry, March 10 : Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Rajya Sabha member N R Elango’s son was killed on the spot and his friend critically injured as the car in which they were travelling lost control, hit the road divider and toppled at Kil Puthupet near Kottakuppam in Viluppuram district of Tamil Nadu in the early hours of Thursday. Police said the deceased Rakesh along with his friend were on their way to Puducherry from Chennai when the accident occurred. His friend was retrieved from the car and sent to a private medical college hospital here for treatment while the body of Rakesh was sent to the same hospital for post-mortem. Kottakuppam police registered a case and started investigation. PAB CS1039
