Discover the Blessings of Goddess Kushmanda on the Fourth Day of Navratri

New Delhi, March 21: The nine days of Chaitra Navratri are dedicated to various forms of the Goddess, with unique rituals for each day. Today, we focus on Goddess Kushmanda, worshipped as the primordial energy of the universe. It is believed that devotion to Goddess Kushmanda enhances fame and strength. Across the country, numerous temples dedicated to her offer devotees the chance to receive her special blessings.

One notable temple is the Laman Mata Temple, located in Datia, Madhya Pradesh. This ancient Shakti Peeth is often referred to as the “Goddess Who Grants Jobs.” Local belief holds that those facing difficulties in securing employment should visit Laman Mata. On the fourth day of Navratri, devotees offer Malpua as a prasad, attracting a large number of worshippers.

In Uttar Pradesh, there are two temples dedicated to Goddess Kushmanda. The first is the Maa Kushmanda Devi Temple in Kanpur, an ancient Shakti Peeth. The sacred water from this temple is believed to alleviate eye ailments. Many visitors suffering from vision problems take this holy water home after their visit. Interestingly, the idol here depicts the Goddess in a reclining posture, from which a mysterious water flows, further drawing devotees.

The third temple is located near the Tulsi Manas Temple in Varanasi, also known as the Durga Kund Temple due to the presence of a water tank. While deities like Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Kali are worshipped here, on the fourth day of Navratri, all three are adorned as Goddess Kushmanda. The adjacent Durga Kund, a large rectangular water tank, becomes a focal point of attraction. Each year, a significant number of devotees come to bathe in the tank, especially during Navratri.
