New Delhi, May 5: Knee pain, hip stiffness, and weakness in the lower body have become common issues today. These problems often worsen with age or due to a sedentary lifestyle. In response, the Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India recommends an easy exercise called ‘Knee Movement’ to alleviate these concerns.
With International Yoga Day approaching, the Ministry is actively promoting various yoga postures and their benefits. As part of this initiative, they emphasize the importance of daily practice of knee movements.
Experts suggest that regular practice not only provides relief from pain but also enhances overall health. This exercise is particularly beneficial for those who tend to sit for long periods or engage in minimal physical activity. It is advisable to start slowly and consult a doctor or yoga expert if experiencing severe pain.
This practice strengthens the joints and simplifies daily activities. Simple knee movement exercises enhance joint strength and mobility. They also activate the muscles around the knees and hips, increasing natural lubrication in the joints, improving flexibility, and reducing pain and stiffness. Regular practice allows for easier walking, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs.
The ‘Knee Movement’ exercise helps eliminate joint weakness and reduces stiffness in the hips and knees. It enhances stability and balance in the lower body while improving posture and coordination. Additionally, it lowers the risk of injuries or strains, increases the range of motion, and provides long-lasting relief.
According to the AYUSH Ministry, knee pain and instability often indicate underuse or weakness of the joints. Simple exercises like ‘Knee Movement’ offer a natural solution to these issues. This exercise can be easily performed at home without any equipment. When done correctly, it gradually increases joint mobility and strengthens the body.
