Jaipur, August 10: On the occasion of the second Monday of Sawan, a significant influx of devotees was witnessed at Shiva temples from Delhi to Jaipur. From early morning, long queues formed as worshippers arrived to pay their respects to Lord Bholenath and perform the ritual of Jalabhishek. The atmosphere was filled with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bam Bam Bhole,” creating a deeply devotional ambiance.
In Delhi, the ancient Shiva temple in Tughlakabad village saw devotees arriving as early as 4 AM. Many came to offer water and perform prayers to Lord Bholenath. The enthusiasm among the worshippers was palpable, with numerous devotees bringing offerings of Ganga water and prayer plates to the temple.
The massive turnout of devotees in both Jaipur and Delhi on this auspicious day showcased their profound faith in Lord Shiva. Throughout the day, the temples remained bustling with visitors, contributing to a vibrant spiritual environment.
A priest at the ancient temple shared, “This temple dates back to the Pandava era. It is special because Arjuna meditated here, after which Lord Shankar appeared and gifted him a bow.”
In Jaipur, the second Monday of Sawan also attracted a large crowd to various Shiva temples. Devotees began arriving early in the morning, offering water, bel leaves, dhatura, ak flowers, and other worship materials to Lord Shiva. Many temples organized special prayers and religious rituals. Security arrangements and facilities for devotees were also established in the temple premises and surrounding areas.
The excitement among the devotees was evident, with men, women, and children flocking to see Lord Shiva. Many observed fasts and performed rituals with devotion. Stalls selling prasad and worship items were set up outside the temples, and the air was filled with continuous chants of “Har Har Mahadev.”
