Lucknow, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : As political tensions escalate in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 assembly elections, Awadhesh Prasad, a Samajwadi Party MP, has made strong statements against opposition parties and the ruling BJP. He asserted that the state’s development hinges not on division but on the progress of farmers, youth, and the common people. Prasad expressed confidence that public trust in the Samajwadi Party and its leader, Akhilesh Yadav, is on the rise.
Responding to Om Prakash Rajbhar’s suggestion to divide Uttar Pradesh into four parts, Prasad dismissed it as a “daydream.” He questioned Rajbhar’s authority to make such a proposal, emphasizing that a state with a rich history does not need to be divided for development. Instead, he argued that fostering the growth of farmers and providing jobs for educated youth are far more crucial.
Regarding the potential alliance led by Asaduddin Owaisi, Prasad stated that voters are determined to oust the BJP. He noted a decline in public confidence in the BJP, while support for the Samajwadi Party and Akhilesh Yadav is increasing. He claimed that the Samajwadi Party is committed to removing the BJP from power and that under Yadav’s leadership, a change is inevitable in 2027.
Prasad also reacted sharply to comments made by Imran Masood and Owaisi about Yadav’s political activity. He suggested that Masood should answer why he downplays Yadav’s significance in the alliance. The MP reaffirmed that Yadav will lead the charge for a change in governance in 2027.
Addressing Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati’s criticisms regarding Yadav’s proposed chariot rally, Prasad contended that the public is aware of who shifts their ideology. He described Yadav’s chariot as a pathway to bid farewell to the BJP and criticized the ruling party for issues related to roads and the Jal Jeevan Mission.
In response to accusations from Jayanth Chaudhary that the Samajwadi Party is attempting to divide society under the guise of the alliance, Prasad asserted that his party aims to unite, while the BJP engages in divisive politics. He expressed disappointment over Chaudhary’s statements, suggesting they stem from pressure or closeness to the BJP.
On the topic of making India a Hindu nation, as suggested by Dheerendra Shastri, Prasad stated that India belongs to everyone, regardless of religion or caste. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity and warned that failing to understand this could harm the nation.
Prasad also commented on the BJP’s objections to remarks made by Rahul Gandhi regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, stating that mothers deserve respect, regardless of their identity.
Moreover, he addressed the controversial posters linking Akhilesh Yadav to figures like Mukhtar Ansari and Atiq Ahmed, dismissing these claims as unfounded and accusing the BJP of sheltering mafia elements. He predicted that such tactics would increase as elections approach, given the BJP’s lack of substantive issues to present to the public.
Lastly, in response to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath‘s claims about providing employment weekly, Prasad highlighted past unfulfilled promises of job creation. He pointed out that the government has only recently begun to focus on employment as elections draw near, suggesting a growing disenchantment with the BJP and a rising trust in Akhilesh Yadav.
