Meerut, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a gathering in Meerut on September 21, emphasizing the need to resist divisive forces that threaten to fragment society along caste lines. He asserted that such negative influences aim to undermine the contributions of revered leaders by categorizing them based on caste, which he believes diminishes their significance.
Speaking at a conference for BJP’s Western region coordinators, attended by the party’s national president Nitin Naveen, Adityanath expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended to Naveen during his two-day visit. He highlighted the importance of empowering party workers through this conference, aligning their efforts with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a self-reliant and developed India.
The Chief Minister stressed that the party prioritizes the nation above individual interests. He criticized the mindset of those who ask, “What’s in it for me?” saying it creates a crisis of identity and hampers development. He pointed to the transformative changes in India since Modi took office in 2014, portraying a nation that takes pride in its heritage and is advancing confidently on the global stage.
Adityanath noted that India’s economy has risen from the bottom five to the top five, contrasting the historical narrative that often denigrated Hindu traditions. He mentioned significant developments in religious tourism, particularly in Mathura-Vrindavan, and the revival of sacred sites. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that religious practices, such as the Kanwar Yatra, continue unabated.
He highlighted infrastructure advancements, including the completion of the Noida International Airport, which is just an hour from Meerut, and the establishment of a sports university named after Major Dhyan Chand in the city. Adityanath also pointed to the successful operation of the Delhi-Meerut expressway and the Namami Gange rapid rail project, asserting that these initiatives are paving the way for economic growth and job creation.
The Chief Minister revealed that the state has provided government jobs to 950,000 youths and revitalized traditional industries, resulting in 32.5 million young people gaining employment. He noted that the state’s improved security situation has fostered a conducive environment for economic development, allowing Uttar Pradesh to shed its previous image and gain respect.
Adityanath concluded by emphasizing the importance of preserving and sharing these achievements with future generations, encouraging party workers to take pride in their contributions to Uttar Pradesh’s transformation into a thriving economy. He urged them to celebrate their identity and heritage, asserting that Uttar Pradesh is no longer seen as a backward state but rather as a model of progress and unity.
