New Delhi, April 15: The Delhi High Court has adopted a strict stance regarding the release of videos related to Arvind Kejriwal’s court hearing on social media. The court has instructed the Delhi Police to remove all videos showing Kejriwal debating with the judge in court.
Kejriwal appeared before the Delhi High Court on Monday, where he presented his arguments for over an hour. During the hearing, he expressed concerns regarding Justice Swarnkant Sharma and requested that the judge recuse herself from the case. He alleged that Justice Sharma had attended events organized by the Advocates Council (associated with RSAS) four times.
The situation escalated when several senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party shared video clips of the hearing on social media. These clips depicted the debate between Kejriwal and the judge, and some individuals even created memes from these clips, further intensifying the issue.
Court officials have stated that this action violates established rules. According to the High Court’s regulations, recording any court proceedings and sharing them on social media is strictly prohibited. Those who violate this rule may face legal consequences.
In this context, the High Court has directed the Delhi Police to promptly remove such videos and take appropriate action against those who recorded and shared them. Officials noted that this is not the first instance of such an occurrence; previous actions have been taken against individuals who recorded court proceedings and posted them online.
